Brown rice flour

An alternative to white, starchy flour is brown rice flour, which is rich in fiber and whole rice grains without the outer husk. In the production of brown rice flour, brown rice is ground on a stone, thus keeping the whole grain, including the bran layers, in powder form. The main health benefits of brown rice come from the phytochemicals (plant compounds) found in the bran layers, which may have antidiabetic, cholesterol, and antioxidant effects, among others. While many commonly used flours can have a mild flavor, brown rice flour enhances cooking with a nutty flavor, so it's often used in baking breads and cakes, as well as thickening sauces. In addition, brown rice flour is a gluten-free alternative to traditional wheat flour. As the demand for gluten-free products increases, brown rice flour is becoming more and more popular.

Chickpea flour

Chickpeas are one of the most ancient cultivated plants, which are mainly used in Indian, Arab and Mediterranean cuisines. This legume is extremely healthy, rich in minerals and vitamins, so it is also an important ingredient in vegetarian diets, as it has a high carbohydrate and protein content. Chickpea flour can be used in a variety of ways. It is also suitable for making bread, cakes and biscuits, and it can also serve excellently for thickening sauces. Chickpea flour can be prepared at home if you have a suitable tool for grinding and pulverizing roasted pea kernels, but it can also be purchased in organic stores and larger hypermarkets. Its price is roughly similar to the price of linseed flour, millet flour and buckwheat flour.

Pea flour

Pea protein is an excellent dietary supplement that is completely plant-based and offers outstanding nutritional value and digestibility among plant proteins. The production of pea protein is not a very complicated process. First, the dried yellow peas are ground into a fine powder, and then combined with water, the starch and fiber are removed. The remaining protein, vitamins and minerals are then extracted in a paste-like form. The paste is dried and further ground, thus creating powdered pea protein with a high protein content. It is important to note that many people do not know that yellow peas do not actually exist as a crop. Green peas are skinned (they get rid of even the thinnest skin) and then dried, which gives them their yellow color. Peas get their hemispherical shape as a result of a natural process that occurs during drying and cleaning, when they split into two lentil-shaped parts. That is why it is sometimes called half pea.
